Although I lived in Nebraska through high school, I’ve called Colorado home since 1988 when I moved here to attend CSU. At CSU I met a native Bostonian in business law class and he too loved the Colorado lifestyle filled with sunshine, skiing, hiking and professional sports. After we married we participated in our first real estate transaction in the DU area in 1995! We settled on a duplex up the street from the original Chipotle and rented half of it to cover our mortgage. We quickly found another great home just across the street and fixed it up then moved there. In 1999 we moved to Observatory Park where we renovated a bungalow, building the perfect home to raise 3 kids.
My early real estate career was filled with purchasing rental properties, renovating homes and building a few spec homes in the Observatory Park area. This provided me with experience as a buyer, seller, decorator and stager! The kids were in school in the neighborhood and I ran their big fundraiser, The Observatory Park Home Tour, where I fell further in love with homes and working with their owners. In 2014 we built a home in Breckenridge exposing us to the trials and joys of 2nd-home home ownership.
After 25 years living in Denver, a unique opportunity arose so we traded the convenience of being close to downtown for a bigger lot and a golf community making a move to Columbine Valley. This also allowed me to be personally involved in yet another real estate transaction; this time with a new home builder.
I feel lucky to have participated both personally and professionally in so many different types of real estate transactions, all the time deepening my love of all things home!
